The Telecommunications Operations Manager will work with and lead a team responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the telephone infrastructure for SUNY Oswego. This team is also responsible for all services related to the phone system including voicemail, call queues and billing. Other responsibilities of the team include computer operations, management of the data center, building mail distribution and staffing the main campus phone exchange. This position may require some evening and weekend work.
In addition, will be expected to display a commitment to undergraduate and/or graduate education, and possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of one year of professional experience supporting telecommunication systems
Knowledge of Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) systems
Demonstrated skills with structured cabling
Ability to work well under pressure, have excellent customer service skills, and be able to work collegially and effectively in a team environment
Experience with CISCO VOIP solution including Unity
