The Director of Student Information Solutions serves as the primary liaison between assigned University offices and Information Systems and manages the complete application life cycle process for assigned application systems.
Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve as Information Systems’ primary liaison with Directors, Managers, and Staff in the Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, Graduate Admissions, Registrar, Academic Advising, and Intercollegiate Athletics areas. • Proactively work with assigned University offices to identify information technology needs, to identify opportunities for process improvement, and to implement best practices. • Coordinate the University web portal, single sign-on, and mobile application solutions. • Support the Administrative Solutions Committee and Information Technology Advisory Committee in the effective review and prioritization of Student Information Solutions projects. • Manage the Student Information Solutions staff including setting priorities and work assignments. • Manage technology application vendors ensuring University needs are met in a cost effective and timely manner. • Report to the Chief Information Officer and work closely with the Directors and Managers of other Information Systems departments. • Contribute as a member of the IS Management Team to the MSU Rolling Five Year Technology Plan and MSU Technology Policy and Standards. • Grow the professional and technical skills of all members of Student Information Solutions. • Develop relationships with colleagues at peer institutions. • Represent MSU, IS, and Student Information Solutions in state, regional, and national meetings. • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Three plus years managing technology oriented personnel, projects, and budgets. • Strong analytical, problem solving, and consulting skills as normally acquired through three plus years of systems analysis experience. • Ability to work in a team oriented environment with other Information System managers and managers in administrative/client departments. • Excellent organization, writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a computer related area. • Experience working with higher education applications along with a deep understanding of higher education processes.
