Position is full-time calendar year, permanent. This position will work on both Providence & Kingston campuses. Responsible for support of online learning technologies including, but not limited to: assisting faculty with implementation of online learning technology in face-to-face and online classes, providing in person and online technical support, documentation and training. Work with faculty on all campuses to develop and enhance high quality online educational opportunities. Support online learning across the University. Train and advise faculty on all campuses in performing online instruction. Assist in training and supervising online learning instructional support personnel. Collaborate with staff at the Office for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning (ATL) and in Information Technology Services (ITS) units (e.g., the Helpdesk, Network, and Instructional Technology) in all online learning efforts. Implement conversion of course content for online learning. Develop, implement and monitor the use of new online learning technology, including audio, video, and interactive/virtual learning environments. As part of training, perform functions normally assigned to a Lead Information Technologist, although to a lesser degree. Perform the duties of an Information Technologist. Maintain a high level of understanding of current developments in the assigned area of responsibility and anticipate future needs. Schedule time each week on both the Providence and Kingston campuses. Perform other duties as required.
