This position will provide independent operational decision making in a team context with regard to design, deployment, maintenance and support of critical unified communication systems. This position will be a member of the Skype for Business and Contact Center teams in the area of Unified Communications. This position will report to a Manager, Application Services who reports to the Director, Application Services within Technology Services.
Primary Position Function:
Help to design and implement server-based infrastructure for large-scale service deployments.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as Windows Operating Systems and Applications subject matter expert.
Plan and implement technologies across multiple services and systems.
Mentor or train backup and other staff as necessary.
Communicate on large projects with other units.
Identify and mitigate risks as well as ensure technical consistency.
Initiate and write technical project proposals.
Track project status and coordinate work with stakeholders.
Create white papers and implementation strategies to other units.
Ensure excellent Customer Service throughout Technology Services.
Partner with the Technology Services Help Desk by setting and managing the expectations of customers.
Act as an advocate for Technology Services customers in service planning and deployment across the organization.
Resolve customer satisfaction issues.
Understand the applicable processes and procedures of the organization and make recommendations in the continuous improvement of those processes and procedures, providing for management analysis and recommendations on continuous improvement.
Work non-traditional hours and respond to on-call requests to provide 24 x 7 service availability.
Position Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, including Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or other relevant field.
Minimum five years of relevant experience with server administration in either local or cloud/hosted environments.
Minimum of four years of experience designing and implementing a server infrastructure in support of a large-scale service administration in either local or cloud/hosted environments.
Demonstrated ability in effective communication and collaborating in a high performance team environment.
Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
Experience in participating in diverse workgroups.
Demonstrated subject matter expert in one or more server technologies, including but not limited to the following: Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, Skype for Business Server.
Familiarity with current trends and relevant technologies offered by major manufacturers and other third-parties.
Preferred Knowledge Requirements
Demonstrated subject matter expert in one or more hybrid, hosted, or cloud-based technologies, including but not limited to the following: Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, Skype for Business.
Completion of an enterprise-level certification (MCITP Enterprise Administrator).
