Reporting to the Assistant Director of Networking under the Telecommunications/Networking IT area of responsibility, the Network Analyst will be responsible for testing and modifying network systems and programs, applying network systems analysis techniques and procedures for proper network functioning, and providing and maintaining data services for the Union College community. Specific duties include: providing day to day programming, monitoring, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of all campus network switches and systems in a Cisco voice/data network and resolving end user connectivity issues. This position serves as the hands-on field contact for data wiring, installation and service/support for telecom rooms, fiber backbone connections, and other communications equipment through maintenance labeling and regular cleaning. This position will oversee and work closely with outside vendors as needed, and will maintain accurate and current records for networking maintenance, numbering assignments, configurations, helpdesk software, and marking of buried cable infrastructure. The position assists with deployment, testing and maintenance of VoIP and other various telephony technologies.
