Maryville University is accepting applications for an instructional designer within the School of Adult and Online Education. The successful candidate will become part of an established instructional design team responsible for partnering with faculty/SME’s to design and develop online course materials centered in student engagement and instructionally sound learning practices. Proven knowledge of ISD strategies, along with the current techniques, tools, and procedures used in the design, development, and evaluation of technology-enhanced and online courses and programs
Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or other relevant field
Knowledge of HTML/CSS and rapid development tools such as Articulate
Proven ability to work effectively and communicate with subject matter experts, peers, users and media developers
Excellent writing, editing, and course development skills
Experience working with Learning Management Systems (Canvas, Blackboard, D2L)
Familiarity with graphic design elements appropriate for online instruction
Strong research, content analysis, and content preparation skills
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
Be able to work collaboratively within an academic community
The ability to manage multiple projects and meet varied deadlines across these projects
Understanding of learning with VR and AI technologies
Experience working with diverse content and populations
