Southern College of Optometry, a leader in optometric education located in the Memphis, TN Medical District, is recruiting for a Learning ManagementSystems Administrator to coordinate multiple functions in the Information Services department with emphasis on the Learning Management System (LMS), instructional technologies and classroom capture. In addition, the position provides technical support to faculty, staff and students as it relates to campus-wide learning technologies.
Manages all aspects of the college LMS, currently Moodle, including proper integration with student information system (SIS)
Builds curriculum and course sites
Ensures proper integration with classroom capture software
Provides training to faculty on best practices utilizing the LMS
Resolves technical support issues
Manages server to include coordinating upgrades with IS staff and vendors
Manages all aspects of the college class capture system, currently Tegrity, including proper integration with the LMS, college authentication services and SIS
Provides training to students and faculty on new features and enhancements, and to faculty, staff and students on classroom technologies
Manages all aspects of the college computer based assessment, currently Examsoft, including assisting faculty with test design, as well as enrollment management and outcome based statistics.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/MIS and 2 years’ experience in a Windows Active Directory environment. Moodle experience is required, as well as prior experience in an educational environment, working with/managing learning and classroom technologies.
