Primary Purpose The Instructional Media Specialist will implement and support multimedia materials, technology applications, and hardware at the Treasure Valley Anatomy & Physiology Laboratory Complex located at Idaho State University-Meridian Health Science Center.
Key Responsibilities The Instructional Media Specialist will work closely with current IT staff and Anatomy & Physiology Lab staff to support student, staff, faculty, and community stakeholders, both internal and external to ISU, that utilize the lab spaces for educational purposes. This includes support of student cadaver laboratories, a bioskills lab for continuing education of health professionals, a distance learning and production studio, as well as support of a virtual anatomy lab which includes immersive 3D technology.
The successful candidate will be comfortable interacting with a variety of students at all levels as well as academic and health care professionals. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can seek out resources to troubleshoot issues and solve problems that occur with current AV & Extron control systems, as well as installation, integration, and maintenance of new lab technology used for scheduling, broadcasting, imaging, recording, and instructional modeling. The person in this position will also install software, maintain databases, and be responsible for following all ISU security policies. The exceptional candidate will excel at training and supporting staff and other stakeholders in the independent use of lab technology. The candidate must be able to successfully complete lab specific training such as biosafety training after hire in order to comply with institutional and state guidelines, must comply with confidentiality requirements and pass an ISU-Meridian Background Check.

Professional experience supporting, Mac OS, iOS, Windows, and common office software and applications.
Professional experience with audio/video or IT installation and support.
Experience training others to use a broad range of technology.
Bachelor's degree in education, instructional technology, mass communication or an advanced degree in a related field.
Work experience in an educational environment.
Significant work experience in AV and/or IT support.
Experience evaluating the learning needs of stakeholders and adjusting training methods to individual needs using effective teaching methods.
Experience with 3D Educational Software, 3D Modeling software, 3D Printing or related.
Experience with EMS Scheduling Software or a similar meeting/event scheduling system.
Experience with Extron AV technology.
Professional experience with hardware and software purchasing.
Professional experience with multimedia editing or videography
