Information Technology Services (ITS) is a university-wide organization devoted to strategic planning, implementation and support of technology products and services to meet the teaching, learning, research and administrative needs of the Pace community. The Data Architect will design and implement a secure, accessible, flexible, and easy to use reporting infrastructure. This infrastructure utilizes the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack and Blackboard Analytics as well as a myriad of data sources external and within the analytics and reporting Data Warehouse solution.
Typical responsibilities of the Data Architect include:
- Work with end-users, executives, and other technical staff to identify and collect requirements
- Build and maintain ETL routines by following best practices and utilizing the Microsoft business Intelligence solution (SSIS, SQL Server, SSAS) to Extract data from Banner and other sources
- Transform data to meet requirements
- Load data into the Blackboard Analytics data warehouse and other data tools where applicable
- Develop and maintain Reports, OLAP cubes, and Dashboards
- The candidate will work closely with different functional areas, managers and directors to identify and collect requirements.

Undergraduate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field experience required. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of four (4) years' experience and extensive knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL, TSQL, or PL/SQL).
Minimum of two (2) years' experience using Microsoft Business Intelligence Software (SQL Server, Analysis Services (SSAS), Reporting Services (SSRS), and Integration Services (SSIS)). Multidimensional modeling and Tabular modeling with an understanding of MDX and DAX is a plus.
Strong data modeling and dimensional modeling skills are required.
Knowledge of Blackboard Analytics, Ellucian Banner and Blackboard Learn is highly desirable.
Understanding of, reporting tools such as Pyramid Analytics, SAS, and Excel pivot tables is desirable.
Strong analytical skills, business knowledge, technical skills, and people skills to define, and guide data strategy.
Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Self-motivated with experience working with minimum supervision
