Davidson College's Technology & Innovation department is looking for an IT Project Manager. Come join our dynamic and collaborative team!
What you'll do
The IT Project Manager/Business Analyst is responsible for managing technical projects from initiation to closure, working across the college and with third party vendors to get projects done. Our projects involve assessing and implementing a wide variety of technologies -- from software solutions to hardware and infrastructure -- and vary in complexity, so you'll always have different and interesting things to do!
This position requires the ability to work independently and lead diverse teams in meeting a project's goals. Working with project stakeholders and team members, you'll coordinate or produce all project-related documentation – from functional requirements to project plans, and everything in between. You'll get to flex your business analysis skills in this role, too, working collaboratively with partners to understand and optimize key business processes and develop business cases for technology solutions. Vendor relationship management is also key; you will negotiate schedules, resources, and product/service quality to ensure project success.
We have a lot of fun in Technology & Innovation, but also hold ourselves to high standards. As a member of the team, we'd expect you to uphold the department's mission to “drive digital transformation that advances Davidson's primary purpose” and contribute positively to a culture of collaboration, transparency, empathy, innovation, and accountability.
Join us! Want to join Davidson's Technology & Innovation team? Fantastic -- we're excited to have you! We hope that you'll bring the following experience to the role:
Bachelor's degree and at least three years' experience in technical project management; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, analyze business processes, and define functional requirements
Exceptional interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
Commitment to working collegially and collaboratively in an inclusive and diverse environment
We know that no one can have it all, but if you do have one or more of these additional certifications, experiences, and/or skills…that would be amazing! If not, that's okay too – you're great just the way you are.
Project management professional (PMP) and/or IT certification such as ITIL or Six Sigma
Experience with Agile project management
Experience working in higher education
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and appropriately escalate issues
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members and project stakeholders at all levels of the organization, whether administrative, technical, managerial, or leadership
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Experience working with one or more higher education administrative software solutions, such as Banner, Blackbaud CRM, Slate, PageUp, or similar
Experience working with CRM and/or project portfolio management software
