Works in collaboration with college community members to deploy technology-based teaching and learning resources both inside and outside the classroom and to support and showcase quantitative research projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES (·denotes essential/primary responsibilities, o denotes secondary responsibilities)
Provide instructional technology support for courses, students, and faculty.
Deploy and maintain mobile technology equipment, including iPad carts, laptop carts, and Android tablets.
Enhance and support faculty and student use of the experimental classroom.
Work with faculty and students to develop quantitative, technology-based research projects.
Enhance and support faculty and student use of the data visualization wall.
Evaluate current and emerging tools and trends in instructional technology use in courses and programs.
o Instruct students, faculty, and staff on how to complete a task or solve a problem using technology. o Develop multimedia educational resources (e.g., Smartboard, iMovie, Spark Video) to showcase how these technologies can be used effectively. o Participate in projects and strategic initiatives. o Support and actively contribute to the goal of achieving greater diversity, inclusion and equity at Colorado College and work effectively with all members of the campus community. o Promote a culture of safety and environmental protection by working in a safe manner; immediately reporting unsafe situations and accidents; following college procedures; and participating in appropriate safety training. o Demonstrate environmental sustainability by using college resources wisely and supporting the college’s sustainability initiatives and innovation. o Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of two years of experience in supporting academic technologies and an understanding of how technology can enhance teaching and learning; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to thrive in an unstructured environment; strong collaborative working style and ability to work well within a team; ability and desire to learn quickly and continuously, and to adapt to new situations and technologies; understanding of both Macintosh and Windows platforms.
Project management skills/certification, familiarity or experience with one of the following: course or learning management software (Canvas); Windows and Apple based operating system imaging technologies, methods, and best practices; working knowledge of specialized applications (especially those tools used by faculty members for quantitative research).
