Description Works as a team member in the Division of Academic Foundations and Connections. Serves as an institution-wide technical expert and works closely with IT in the design, programming, implementation, deployment, and ongoing support of complex databases, computer systems and applications. Generates applied information and analytics to assist division departments ranging from Enrollment and Student Services to Math and English, and reporting for data integrity, student, and college effectiveness at the institutional, division/department, and program/service levels. Supports the dean, associate deans, service directors and department chairs. Provides strategic planning, department planning, program/service review processes, and systems application support.

MINIMUM/MANDATORY EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties as described. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field AND five years' experience in developing and managing databases and systems, troubleshooting applied information software applications, information needs assessment, and/or developing and delivering documentation and training.
KNOWLEDGE: Advanced knowledge of relational databases. Knowledge of complex data systems, SQL reporting, and Business Intelligence systems. Knowledge of data mining and management for small to large data sets, integrated database systems, networks, and microcomputer systems and software. Knowledge of general office practices and procedures, grammar/spelling, and positive customer service. Knowledge of state and federal accountability and assessment policies. Knowledge of practices and guidelines pertaining to community colleges, general business operations, processes, and procedures. Knowledge of a higher education information system, preferably Ellucian Colleague, is preferred. Knowledge of college business processes and procedures as aligned with course, student, and enrollment data is preferred.
SKILL: Skill in using standard software to manipulate large datasets for querying, analysis and visualization. SQL programming language. Excellent analytical skills, including knowledge of descriptive statistics and strong technical writing skills to document project management and data procedures as well as communicate findings to range of audiences. Strong interpersonal communication, planning, and organizational skills. Project management and facilitation skills for large and small groups and cross-functional teams. Skill in the use of personal computers; office software programs including MS applications such as Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel as well as Microsoft SQL Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Analysis Services, Report Builder, Integration Services (SSIS), Excel and/or SAP Business Objects; phone system; and standard use of office equipment.
