The eLearning Developer, Restaurant Training & Transformation is an exciting, new role. The position is responsible for helping to create and sustain an industry-leading guest experience at A&W restaurants through the ongoing design and implementation of an effective and agile training program for restaurant staff. The eLearning Developer provides in-house expertise in adult learning, instructional design, learning technology, project management, and stakeholder engagement. the eLearning Developer writes content, manages training program documentation and projects and utilizes instructional technology to support A&W’s blended learning and change strategies that include online, multimedia, in-restaurant and coach-enabled components.
The eLearning Developer reports to the Director of Restaurant Training and Transformation and works closely with the Manager, Restaurant Training & Transformation works as well as with members of A&W’s Operations team, franchises and external suppliers. The eLearning Developer role is based at A&W’s Corporate Home Office in North Vancouver and will involve overnight travel of 10% to 15%.

The candidate must have a passion for, and proven expertise in, adult education, instructional design, learning technologies and managing change. The candidate must have a track record of success in designing and implementing innovative training initiatives founded on principles of adult learning and that incorporate graphics, animation, digital audio, video and other multimedia elements to foster learner engagement and interaction. The candidate must possess excellent writing skills and experience in producing and hosting adult education courses on Learning Management Systems. A collaborative self-starter, the candidate must be an excellent influencer who can wisely juggle multiple priorities and effectively engage a wide range of internal and external partners.
The candidate must have a strong drive for results, high integrity, a solutions-oriented mindset and superb judgment. The candidate must possess excellent analytical, interpersonal, time management and communication skills.
Ideally, the candidate will be a permanent resident or citizen of Canada. Preferably, the candidate will have several years of related experience, a genuine interest in business and a university degree in relevant disciplines such as adult education and educational technology. Fluency in English is a requirement for this role. It would be an asset to speak, read and write French fluently.
