New College of Florida is accepting applications for a Systems and Security Administrator. The Systems & Security Administrator is responsible for supporting and securing information technology systems utilized to advance the academic and administrative goals of the college. This includes, but is not limited to the installation, and management of servers utilized for data loss protection, data governance, user authentication, and log management. This position works in collaboration with the Network Services & Infrastructure team to install and maintain systems and applications to support the mission of the college and to insure the security of these systems.
Intermediate knowledge of Linux and Microsoft Server operating system administration, virtualization technology (VMware is preferred). Experience in building servers, both physical and virtual, functional knowledge working with relational database systems such as MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server; functional knowledge of core protocols such as TCP/IP, SSH, SMTP, NFS, iSCSI, and DNS. Experience with authentication protocols such as LDAP, SAML, and CAS; experience with Active Directory and management of file share permission and GPO objects is required.

Master's degree or equivalent combination of experience and training in supporting computer systems research. Four years of experience supporting a research computing and working in higher education or research.
